A revolution in acne treatment, an alternative to isotretinoin!

The 1726 nm laser therapy (also known as the “Acne Killer”) works by selectively damaging overgrown, abnormal sebaceous glands, allowing for the effective treatment of acne. The standard treatment protocol includes 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, and the resulting remissions last for many months.

This is the first laser technology registered in the USA specifically for the long-term treatment of mild, moderate, and severe acne, approved since 2022, and in Europe since 2024.

The therapy is recommended for patients of all ages, all skin types, and at any time of the year. Patients report pain levels of 3–6 on a 10-point scale. The main side effect is a possible flare-up of acne after the first session, which gradually subsides with further treatments. Mild swelling, redness, and a feeling of skin dryness may also occur immediately after the procedure. These symptoms resolve on their own.
